3.0R. One of few Japanese cars I’ve ever felt a desire to own.
In general I find Japanese cars to be either excessively bland (90's Civic, any Camry, et al.) or overwrought to the point of being distasteful (modern Lexus, S2k, WRX). This generation of Legacy hits that sweet spot of being cool and full of character but still restrained.

I thought it was a Toyota at first glance. That reflector in the rear bumper looked like a Canry dent for a second.

I thought those were 3.6 l engines. And I want one two, however they have been some of the most prone to excessive oil consumption.

The newest one is a 3.6R. This gen was a 3.0.

I absolutely hate Subarus, but the 2002 Legacy Outback 3.0 Sedan has caught my eye a few times.

I’m fond of the Porsche-designed Blitzen version of that generation
Well, not Porsche themselves but the subsidiary that designes Porsche-branded things.

They could be had with a 6-speed manual based on the one found in the WRX STI of the time in Japan...in both sedan and wagon forms...
Wagon
...
Sedan .

I was quite taken with it, too! I’ve never seen one of these listed before in Garnet Red Pearl.
These become legal up your way in less than 3 years, too...

I’d have a hard time justifying two fourth gen Legacy wagons...I still want it though haha
